Maria Cristina Diaz
Maria Cristina B. Diaz, MD, also known as Kit, is a neurologist and psychiatrist from the Philippines. She is interested in social and cognitive neuroscience and the interface of brain and behavior. During her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, she wrote her paper on the Association between Perceived Parental Acceptance-Rejection and Child Psychological Adjustment among Filipinos Ages 8 – 18 With Internalizing and Externalizing Symptoms [APPACIE]. It was also during this time when she ran a parent management training program and found that in helping parents become more responsive and attuned, children’s emotional and behavioral problems are addressed.
